After months of scientific competition, the Excellence Award for the Best Graduation Project in Physiotherapy for 2024 has concluded. This competition began last October and was held across physiotherapy departments in Libyan colleges and universities. It is the first of its kind in Libya, aiming to elevate the standard of scientific research and encourage students to innovate and excel in the field of physiotherapy.

In this distinguished scientific event, we gathered from all over Libya, united by a common goal: to advance the profession and enhance scientific research. The closing ceremony, held at the late Dr. Bashir Al-Jabou Auditorium at the College of Medical Technology, Misrata, featured the announcement of results and the recognition of the winners.

The first-place award was granted to the graduation project titled “Evaluation of the Effectiveness of the TECAR Device in Treating Lower Back Pain Compared to Traditional Treatments.”
This project was conducted by students:

  • Mona Fawzi Helan
  • Hania Mansour Dehoum
  • Rowaida Nour Al-Din Al-Zreidi
  • Malika Abdulqader Ahrar

Under the supervision of Professor Aqila Rafida, from the Physiotherapy Department at the College of Medical Technology, Misrata.

The second-place award was given to the project titled “Measuring the Endurance Time of the Trunk Extension Maneuver to Predict Core Stability Performance.”
This project was conducted by students:

  • Rania Ahmed Qusibat
  • Howaida Al-Shaab Abu-Lamida
  • Widad Othman Estuka

Under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Masoud Ali, from the Physiotherapy Department at the Faculty of Medical Technology, University of Tripoli.

On this occasion, the Libyan Physical Therapy Association extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of this competition. Special thanks go to Al-Jayed Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship for supporting young talents and encouraging scientific research, believing in the importance of advancing knowledge and enhancing education in the healthcare field.
